Morgan Freeman, 87, and Clint Eastwood, 94, Have Reunion at Jazz Festival in New Photo

Morgan Freeman and Clint Eastwood had quite the Hollywood reunion recently! The Million Dollar Baby costars posed together for photos at the 2024 Monterey Jazz Festival last month.

On Monday, October 14, Morgan, 87, reflected on the experience of attending the event and the distinct honor of presenting Clint, 94, with the inaugural Clint Eastwood Award for Cultural Leadership.

“It was a great pleasure presenting my friend, Clint Eastwood, with the inaugural Clint Eastwood Award for Cultural Leadership at the @MontereyJazzFestival last weekend,” he captioned a photo with Clint on Instagram. “Clint is a true musician: pianist, composer and a jazz aficionado! We had a wonderful time listening to the incredible music of Kyle Eastwood and Mavis Staples! @KyleEastwood @DatH2O @LoriMcCreary #jazz.”

Fans loved seeing the two costars reunite for the special occasion.

One person commented, “Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman are two legends together, thank you for the valuable traces you left in the cinema.”

Another wrote, “The Legendary Legends.”

Producer Lori McCreary also reflected on her experience at the event with the two Hollywood legends.

“Had a fantastic time at the @MontereyJazzFestival. My business partner @MorganFreeman presented our friend, Clint Eastwood, with the inaugural Clint Eastwood Award for Cultural Leadership,” she wrote. “Also had the pleasure of watching @KyleEastwood, @MavisStaples and other great artists perform! #TheEastwoodSymphonicProject.”

Morgan and Clint not only worked together on 2004’s Million Dollar Baby, but they shared the screen in the 1992 film Unforgiven as well. Morgan also starred in the 2009 biographical sports film Invictus, which was directed by Clint.

The Driving Miss Daisy actor spoke about his experience working with Clint on Invictus.

“I think Clint is an actor’s director. He doesn’t direct actors. He directs movies. He hires actors, and it’s your job,” Morgan told RTE in June 2023. “And I love that about him that you establish your own character; you play it and do what the scene calls for. [He’ll] have the scene set up. Cameras will be where we want them to be. Lights will be where we want them to be. And go for it.”

“He never says action, and he never says cut. He’s his own person on a movie set,” he added. “Wonderful. I begged him to direct Invictus. It’s one of the few movies he directed that he wasn’t in.”

Currently, Clint is gearing up for the world premiere of his latest film, Juror #2, on October 27.

“Clint wants the movie to speak for itself, and the well-liked stars of the film to do the publicity,” an insider told Closer in June of the Academy Award winner’s relaxed approach to promotion for the movie. “The talk show circuit has no appeal to him, and he’s all about standing the art up on its own, and letting the chips fall where they may. He knows he’s broken records, defied the odds and gone further than almost any director ever, just in terms of years. That’s enough for him and he doesn’t need any more pats on the back.”
